In 1989, a new and different sound began rocking the dancehall and party venues across Jamaica. The brainchild of Keith Walford and Bunny Hayles, the sound system known today as Bass Odyssey did the rounds on the island. Its sounds were so loud and infectious that people from far and wide began tuning in.
Subsequently, Base Odyssey began receiving invitations to play in other parts of the Caribbean, Central America, the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan and many other locations. Over the years the sound’s selectors included Tinna One, Glamma G, and the late Squingy who moved on to heaven’s biggest sound system in the great beyond in 2009. Other recruits are Mark, Worm, Charly Black (who has since left to establish a successful career as a Dancehall artiste), Dj Lexxy, Dwayne, Dj Keithy, Speng, Shane, Harry D, Villy and DJ Rat.
Today, Base Odyssey has an enviable record of winning awards for sound clashed all over the world. Among its conquests are the UK Cup Clash in 2006, 2007 and 2008, the Guinness Sounds of Greatness competition and the Irish and Chin world clash. For bookings and other enquiries: Telephone:
